My lovely wife and kids got me the Bench Dog Promax extension table for my Unisaw along with the Panel Loc and the Power Loc. I thought I would post the pictures of the install and also my thoughts as I did.
The products were well packed and well protected. it was interesitng that Bench Dog used a plastic tube and caps to ship the Panel Loc. Neat idea. I unpacked it and read over the instructions to make sure nothing bit me in the rear.
I removed my existing left extension and discovered that the Bench Dog extension did not have the hole needed for the countersunk bolt used to hold the pushbutton station on. I measured the placement of the old hole and found it to be 10 mm from the bottom edge and 40 mm from the rear edge. Sad that on an american product they used metric dimensions.
I drilled and countersunk a new hole for the bolt and i was ready to install the extension.
Boy is that thing heavy!!! I am glad that it fit tightly between the fence rails and helped hold it in place. The bolts went in without trouble and some "adjustment" with a mallet and it fit perfectly.
The fence went together just as it was supposed to without a hitch. It dropped on to the table in seconds. I have leveled and placed the router mounting plate in the extension so that i can use the saw while i wait for my Bench Dog Pro Lift and PC 7518 to show up.
The Panel Loc fit perfectly and the Power Loc was easy to mount.

What is that thing 1/4" steel? Thats a pretty clever setup. If I didnt have a router table already I would consider this for sure.

it is at least 1/4". i know it is more in few spots with the ribs and all. It weighs over 60 lbs so it not light. It is a great solution for me becasue of the limited space I have in my basement. i basically get a heavy duty router station without any increase in used floorspace. it is not the cheapest solution but i think after i install the lift and PC7518 it is as close to a shaper as i can get. I am planning on installing the Digi-Lift to it afterward so that I can get a digital readout of the bit height.
