I was able to watch one of these perform first hand recently. I was really impressed but I have a few thoughts that actually keep me from getting it. The first is the cost. The unit at the show was $1600. For that price you get the unit, software and some basic tooling. Unfortunately the unit is somewhat crippled unless you purchase the add on probe, software add ons and additional tooling. So its more like $2500 to really get going. Speed may or may not be an issue. A complicated carve will take a long time to complete. So you could start it up an walkway to work on other things I guess but my concern would be what if something goes wrong. If you dont check on it for an hour you can lose valuable time and material. Lastly I would like to know what the tool life is. Its a very tiny cutter in there doing the carving. How long does it last?

On the plus it seems well made, thought out and easy to use. You can carve materials other than wood possibly allowing for the creation of some niche products.
